1. Take a day trip to Arran on the ferry and explore the island at your leisure.

2. Hop on the train to Glasgow to sightsee and enjoy the variety of shopping on offer.

3. Spend a day in Burns Country and check out the museum and tributes to our National Bard.

4. Take a 4 miles stroll along the path to Seamill with the beaches and Arran to admire. Once there, have a relaxing lunch in the Seamill Hydro and work it off with the stroll back.

5. Catch the bus to Largs and hop on the ferry to Millport - why not take the bus round the island.

6. Go to Largs and stroll along the prom, sampling the wealth of pub restaurants on your way.

7. Take a trip to Culzean Castle and see the spectacular coastline and castle gardens.

8. Take a bus to catch the ferry to Bute and discover Rothesay Bay.
